Leathes Prior Solicitors proudly sponsors North Walsham Young Farmers Coastal Trek
Leathes Prior Solicitors sign up as main sponsor to support the North Walsham Young Farmers Club as they take on a 70 mile trek along the Norfolk Coast from Great Yarmouth to Hunstanton over the course of three days (which is over 23 miles a day!).
The club is raising funds for the Norfolk charity, Nelson’s Journey with around 20 members of the club planning to clock up the miles to help bring smiles to children who have suffered bereavement. On Sunday 27 April a small group from the North Walsham Young Farmers Coastal Trek Team took part in a preparation walk. The purpose of the 21 mile walk was to assess pace and plan the route across the North Norfolk coast. Some of the group had camped at Stiffkey the night before to get a feel for the coming three day event, which will involve trekkers camping between days of walking. The group set off at 8.30am and had completed the nine miles to Salthouse by 11.30am via an inland route. After a snack and cup of tea, they walked out to the shingle bank and took a coastal path back towards Blakeney. A much needed ice-cream was enjoyed at the 16 mile mark, before the group returned to their camp at Stiffkey.
The charity coastal trek will take place this weekend between 8 May and 11 May 2015 when other members of the club will be supporting the walkers by bringing supplies and providing a support vehicle. Leathes Prior’s Sarah Ellero, Trainee Solicitor and part of the Agricultural Team, is responsible for securing the sponsorship deal, as a member of the North Walsham Young Farmers Coastal Trek, and she will be joining the club to undertake the fundraising trek.
We are very pleased to be able to support the North Walsham Young Farmers as they take on this challenge for such a worthy cause. Opportunities to support ventures like this allow us to donate to local charities whilst improving relations with local agricultural businesses. We wish the club the best of luck next weekend!
