Leathes Prior chooses OPEN Youth Trust as their charity of the year for 2017
We are delighted to announce that Leathes Prior has chosen to support OPEN Youth Trust (OPEN) as our charity of the year throughout 2017.
OPEN was established in 2005 to provide opportunities for young people in Norfolk with the longer term aim of making a positive difference to their lives. The charity relies on funding and donations to achieve their aims of providing diverse and innovative ways to engage young people.
The OPEN team are based nearby our own offices, at 20 Bank Plain, which is a multi-purpose venue that also provides live music and venue hire, allowing the team to profit from commercial activities which enables them to offer a diverse range of activities for young people aged 7 – 25.
Leathes Prior chooses to support a different charity ever year and throughout 2016, we supported local charity Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB).
The NNAB is based on Magpie Road in Norwich and cares for visually impaired and blind people in Norfolk and Norwich, whatever their age and living circumstances. The team at Leathes Prior thoroughly enjoyed working with the dedicated, friendly and approachable team at the NNAB and will continue to support the charity where we can.
As was the case last year, we will actively encourage our staff to get involved in supporting our chosen charity by keeping them up to date with dates for the diary in the OPEN event calendar and provide opportunities to fundraise and raise awareness of the charity.
Personally I have been really impressed with the forward thinking and unique ways that OPEN engage young people. They have done an excellent job at raising their profile in recent years and we hope to be able to add to that in 2017. The charity also has a really positive involvement in the local community and we aim to work with them to show our support in doing the same.
John Gordon-Saker, Chief Executive of OPEN added: “We’re delighted by this news. As a leading professional firm, Leathes Prior can help spread the word about OPEN amongst the business community and how every penny of profit from conferences and events goes directly to benefit young people. It’s a compelling proposition for any organisation interested in social responsibility.”
