Post Room Assistant


We are now recruiting for a Post Room Assistant to join our Post Room Team.

The candidate and post

Previous experience in an administrative role would be advantageous but not essential.

You will play a crucial role in assisting in the management and distribution of all incoming and outgoing post across our four offices in The Close as well as replenishing and distributing firmwide stock and the archiving and retrieval of files and deeds. Supporting the Post Room and Archiving Manager, you will also be involved in supporting the Management Team, Reception Team, Accounts Team, and Legal teams across the firm with ad hoc tasks as and when necessary.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in a full-service law firm whilst developing administrative and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the team playing a key role in ensuring the prompt and accurate delivery of incoming and outgoing post.

The main duties of the position include:

  • Assisting with incoming and outgoing post, including the scanning of post and recording of post
  • Coordinating courier of important documents or items
  • Where necessary, be responsible for hand deliveries and court deliveries
  • Support with the file closure and file retrieval process
  • Coordinate the storage and retrieval of deeds
  • Support the file destruction process
  • Support the Facilities Manager with room moves
  • As and when necessary, be responsible for unlocking the office, post preparation, and stock ordering to cover the Post Room Manager when they are on annual leave
  • Provide support for any other additional tasks dependent on business needs

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge of IT and computer-based systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
