LEGAL ASSISTANT - COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TEAM

(Permanent, 28-35 hours per week)


The team and clients

We are excited to announce that after expanding their operation our well-established Commercial Property Team are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant into their team. 

The Commercial Property Team comprises of two Partners, one Senior Associate, two Associates, one Chartered Legal Executive, one Solicitor, one Trainee Solicitor and one Paralegal. They are currently supported by three Legal Assistants. The team’s client base includes investors, businesses, and agricultural landowners.  

The team prides itself on the high-quality workload they undertake and the longstanding relationships they hold with their clients. They strive to deliver sensible, transparent, and commercial advice on areas such as handling of sales, acquisitions, and disposals of commercial and industrial property; development of land; work on landlord and tenant leases.

The Post and candidate  

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the team playing a key role in ensuring the smooth running of new and ongoing matters. The main duties of the position include:

  • Ensuring excellent levels of client service are maintained at all times to prospective and existing clients;
  • Attending to clients, and potential clients on the phone (and on occasions, face to face), taking messages and arranging appointments as necessary;
  • Monitoring and fielding email enquiries from prospective and existing clients, and passing on to the team, as appropriate;
  • Typing, preparing and formatting documents;
  • Maintaining client files, to include electronic and paper filing, and efficient utilisation of the case management system;
  • Assisting in the management of electronic diaries for the team; and
  • Assisting the team with accounting processes such as preparation of invoices and assisting with credit control.

To be successful within the role, the ideal candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines and be comfortable prioritising tasks from multiple sources. Training will be provided within the team but at least 1 year of previous experience in an administrative position will be essential. Experience in a similar role and/or sector would be highly desirable.
