LEGAL ASSISTANT - WILLS, TRUSTS & PROBATE TEAM

(fixed term, 21-28 hours per week)


The team and clients

We are excited to announce that our well-established Wills Trusts and Probate Team are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant into the team.   

The team currently comprises of one Partner, three Senior Associates, two Associates, one Chartered Legal Executive, three Solicitors, one Paralegal and a Trainee Solicitor. The team is currently supported by four Legal Assistants and provides specialist advice and support to their clients on a wide range of wills, trusts and probate matters.

The Post and candidate

This post has two core elements in how it will support the team:

  • Working with the team to ensure a smooth client on-boarding process. This would include taking enquiries from new and existing clients over the phone, opening the matters in the case management system and ensuring the appropriate compliance and client ID processes have been carried out before handing the matter over to the team;
  • Supporting the team with administration tasks associated with Court of Protection and Deputyship matters. This would include supporting the preparation of documents, matter accounts processes and liaising with external bodies associated with the matter.

To be successful within the role, the ideal candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines, maintain excellent levels of client service and be comfortable prioritising tasks from multiple sources. Training will be provided within the team but at least 1 year of previous experience in an administrative position will be essential. Experience in a similar role and/or sector would be highly desirable.

This role is being offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months initially as it has been designed in part to offer cover whilst a member of the team takes maternity leave. Whilst not guaranteed, there may be potential to extend this contract beyond the initial term.

We anticipate this post to require 21-28 hours per week and we welcome applications from candidates wishing to discuss flexible working patterns.
